Have you ever thought about how to assemble a good trousseau for your baby? And if you have a pregnant friend and you want to give a gift… what item can’t be missing from the baby’s trousseau?

To make it easier for friends and pregnant blog readers, I decided to make a list of the 10 items that cannot be missing in a baby’s trousseau! Of course it’s not a complete trousseau, but certainly the most important things are on this list!

See below the products I listed:

1) Maternity Set

The maternity sets are the clothes that the baby will wear in the 3 or 4 days he will be in the maternity ward and, probably, he will still have to wear during the first 2 months. Usually these sets are made of wool or linen, but if it’s too hot, mom can also buy them in another fabric. It is recommended to provide between 4 and 6 sets for this occasion.

I like the tradition of wearing a little yellow outfit on the first day and a red outfit on the last day, to get out of the maternity hospital!

2) Baby Bodies

The baby bodies are indispensable pieces and used daily by babies under any outfit! The wildest piece is the white body, both short-sleeved and long-sleeved! The best of all is the cotton one, those who have used the body of this material cannot use another one! I selected some models of white bodysuit from the famous cotton that in the photo looks like an ordinary cotton, but in the touch it’s something else!! It really makes all the difference!!

Besides the white bodies, I also love the ones with embroidered collars. They are chic and ideal to be worn under overalls and maternity sets! One prettier than the other. Must have!

3) Plush/suedine jumpsuits

It’s no use wanting to invent a lot, because the little clothes that babies will use the most are the little ones! In addition to being beautiful, they are practical for diaper “changing-changes” and very comfortable for babies to lie down in the crib or stroller!

4) Towel with 2 pieces: Terry + Inner diaper towel

The ideal towels for the trousseau are those with a hood and that come with the inner diaper towel to dry babies’ sensitive skin. Take a look at these options! And you can also embroider the hem of the hood that looks really fancy!

5) Mouth and shoulder skirt

Three diaper kits are great! They contain two mouth diapers and one shoulder diaper. The smaller nappies are for cleaning the baby’s mouth, while the larger ones are for placing on the shoulder to support the baby without it coming into contact with the clothes of the person holding it. Besides, the skirts have a thousand other uses and are an amazing option to give to new moms!

6) Sheet sets

The crib sheet set consists of 3 pieces: bottom sheet with elastic, top sheet and pillowcase. I love this richelieu embroidered sheet option! It’s beautiful to drool! In addition to the set of sheets for the crib, it is also nice to have a sheet and cover for the baby carriage.

7) Baby bag for walking

You will need an exclusive bag for the baby: diapers, bottles, pacifiers, clothes etc. I love this plush bag, I think it’s modern, beautiful, easy to wash and without that baby bag face! Plus, it has several useful compartments!

8) Blankets

The blankets are also basic items in the trousseau. You will want blankets to match the maternity sets and also lighter ones for hot days. It’s nice, too, to have a wildcard template to match all the colors!

9) Bibs

Bibs will be used a lot! Both for when the baby is in that phase of drooling a lot (which occurs mainly in the phase when the teeth are wanting to come out), and in the phase of eating the berries and baby food. This was an item that I personally used a lot!

There are thousands of types of bibs, from fabric to plastic. The ideal is to have several types to find out which ones your baby will adapt best to! And you need to have some tidy ones for a special occasion, like those that imitate a scarf around the neck and have different colors and prints! A charm!

10) Baby Shoes

Baby shoes are a trousseau icon, aren’t they? But the tip I give here is not to buy too many little shoes, because the baby uses soooo little! Buy larger size shoes for when your baby is 3 months or older! Then yes, you will be delighted, because there is every cute option that makes us want them all!

If you liked the tips, leave a comment! I’d love to hear from you!
